Hydraulic Cylinders and Pneumatic Cylinders are available with a choice of switches:-

Mechanical Limit Switch and Proximity sensors. Magnetic Reed switches are also available on pneumatic cylinders.

Several types of Limit Switches are available from 'L' series (actuator only) to operate your own signal device to 'LS' series, supplied with a DPDT sealed switch and 1.8 metre long leads.

Solid state proximity sensors may be used in place of mechanically operated switches to give reliable and accurate end of stroke signals. These sensors are built inside the cylinders to prevent damage and are not affected by vibration, dust, oil, etc.

Magnetic reed switches are ideal for most types of pneumatic cylinder circuits because of their simplicity, versatility, long life and reliability. Any number of switches maybe mounted along the tube to sense multiple positions.
